The video shows the asexual phase of the Moon Jellyfish (Aurelia labiata) life cycle.  Once the sperm and egg from adult male and female Moon Jellyfish unite they form a ciliated planula larva that settles onto a substrate.  They metamorphose into a tiny white feeding polyp .  These eventually metamorphose into a strobilating scyphistoma.  The scyphistoma looks like little bottle caps stacked on top of each other.  At the end of the scyphistoma new ephyra (baby jellyfish) are released into the ocean to start a new life.  For more information and videos on this species please visit https://www.vichighmarine.ca/moon-jel...
