Chane Gashi also called chana kadgi ghashi or gassi is a popular side dish from GSB Konkani cuisine prepared using chickpeas and raw jackfruit or yam (suvarnagedde) or potatoes (aloo) in a thick coconut spice sauce.
This dish from konkani cuisine is mainly prepared on Fridays at home, for any auspicious occasion or function like Satyanarayana pooja, brahmopadesham, wedding and as a main dish in Konkani temples in Karkala, Udupi, Mangalore, Kundapur, Bantwal.
