Up The Pole - BBC Radio Comedy - Warriss & Jewel - TX Date 1/11/1948

Ben Warriss & Jimmy Jewel were the biggest British double any of the 1940s. Sheffield born cousins (in fact born in the same family bed 6 months apart) these two started at a very young age and by their mid 20s were both comics working the halls. One night they happened to be on the same bill and an act hadn't turned up, the theatre manager begged for the pair if them to go and entertain together, they did and a new act was born. This is a rare episode of "Up The Pole", the boys BBC radio series made in the late 40s.
