MOUNT ISA - EM'S FIRST TIME IN 4 LOW & FIRST WHEEL LIFT! Gnarly 4wd Track | Losing Traction | LOST!!

Tune in tonight as we head to Mount Frosty just out of Mount Isa towards Cloncurry. While on the track to Mount Frosty we come across a sign that points us to Rigby Falls so we assume these falls must be before Mount Frosty so we drive in. We then hit a gnarly 4wd track with a lot of down hills that we slide & lose traction on! After a while we figure we must be lost! Wikicamps jumps in & saves the day - turns out we are well past Mount Frosty & Rigby Falls but luckily enough we are heading for the Maltese Crosses.

After we fossick for some Maltese Crosses we then continue on the 4wd track & end up in an old mining area. We then see a sign details the end of the Ballara Mining Trail. We make it to the top of the Ballara Mining Trail Tunnel Hill & get to walk into the Tunnel.

After the tunnel we make it to the turn off sign to start the Ballara Mining Trail. Instead of finishing our adventure here, we headed towards Fountain Springs. Fountain Springs was just magic! What a scene it would be in the wet season. Just stunning! After this we head back on the corrugated dirt road to the highway & the Fountain Springs rest area (the correct starting point for the Ballard Mining Trail). We finish off by going to the Mount Isa lookout on our way back into town - this time at night time, which was beautiful.
