CBSE Class 10 Science Chapter 6 - Life Process - Respiration in Human Beings
The respiration process in humans starts from nostrils which has fine lining of hair and mucus to filter the air that we breathe in. The air is then passed through the throat and then to the lungs. There are trachea (16 - 20 ring of cartilage) in throat which ensures air passage does not collapse. This trachea expands and separates into the two lungs and forms Bronchi in the lungs. Bronchi is further divided into bronchioles which have Alveolar sac attached to them, Alveolar have alveoli which are richly supplied with blood. When we breathe in our diaphragm lifts up which increase the chest cavity which allows the lungs to suck the air in which reaches to the expanded alveoli. Blood brings air to alveoli, which takes the carbon dioxide from blood and passes on the oxygen to blood.
Blood helps in the respiration process in human beings.
