5 lb leg & thigh 12 pcs or full cut chicken
2-3 table spoons yogurt
3 table spoons tomato paste
1/4 cup crushed tomatoes
4 large red onions
3 tbs Garlic and ginger paste
1-2 lemons
1/2 bunch coriander leaves
1/4 bunch mint leaves
1 Green whole chilies (optional)
3 Tbl biriyani spices (home made) or 2 Tbs garam masala
2 Tbs salt (or as per your taste)
3 cups vegetable oil for frying the onions
1/2 cup oil
pinch saffron
2-3 large Potatoes (optional)
For the rice
5 cups basmati rice {Indian LONG grain rice}
2 sticks cinnamon
5 pods cardamom
2 bay leaves
3 cloves
1 star anise
1 Tbl black peppercorns
1/4 Cup golden fried onions
1 ½ table spoon salt (as per your taste)
1 pinch saffron
¼ cup rose water (optional but recommended)
7-8 cups water for boiling the rice
6-8 tsp hot oil or ghee to drizzle on the rice
