Royal Oak is a small suburb in Auckland with a number of popular shops and a five road roundabout which connects areas like Epsom, Onehunga, One Tree Hill and Three Kings.

Royal Oak Roundabout is a major thoroughfare and connects 5 different roads (formerly 6) - Manukau Road (north and south ends), Campbell Road, Mount Smart Road and Mt Albert Road. At peak hour traffic queues at the roundabout can get pretty long.

Local schools are Royal Oak Primary School and Royal Oak Intermediate.

Royal Oak is on several major bus routes, but there is no train station (the closest being Onehunga).
