Tilachya vadya are specially prepared for maker sankranti. This is authentic, traditional recipe. This is a special delicacy made in Maharashtra to celebrate Makar Sankrant. Enjoy this special sweet..
Ingredients:
. 1/2 cup Sesame seeds
• 1 cup Jaggery / Gudh
1/2 cup Peanut powder . 1/2 cup grated dry Coconut
• Ghee
• Cardamom powder
Method:
• Heat up a pan on medium heat.
• Add sesame seeds and roast until they get nice golden
colour for
about 5-6 minutes. • Roast on medium heat only. Do not use high heat.
• Do not go anywhere while roasting. Stir continuously

• Take sesame seeds out into a bowl.

• In the same pan add grated dry coconut.

• Roast it for just about 2-3 minutes. It should get just light
• No need to change it's colour. • Turn off the gas and transfer into blender jar

• Add roasted sesame seeds on it. Pulse for just once or
twice.
• Do not make powder of coconut or sesame seeds. It must retain
it's coarse texture.
• Take a dish and grease it with ghee with help of katori.
Keep it aside.
• Take jaggery in a pan and let it melt.
• Once the jaggery melts, turn off the gas. Do not make
syrup of it.
• Add ghee and mix well.
• Add peanut powder, mixture of coconut and sesame seeds and
cardamom powder. Mix well quickly. • You can add nutmeg powder if you want.
• When everything is mixed well together, pour out the mixture into
the dish greased with ghee.
• Spread the mixture evenly into the dish with the help of
katori.
Try to shape it into square shape
• Let it cool down for 5 minutes.
• Cut vadya with the help of knife.
