The Heart Chakra (Anahata/Middle Heart)
The Heart Chakra (Anahata/Middle Heart) deals with love and is blocked by grief and emotional upheaval. This chakra is associated with the color green. Green is the color of life and love, all the oxygen producing and fruit baring plants reflect green as a product of the chlorophyll that they also produce. Just as life would suffer and cease without the oxygen and fruits of the plants on earth, our bodies suffer without the joy and love that this energy is.
One with a balanced heart chakra will display great love for all living things from plants to animals, other people and themselves. A balanced heart chakra is trusting and has faith in themselves, the universe and the people in their lives, to do the right things and do good by them and all things. The balanced heart is joyous and happy, even laughter will reflect the color of this energy and is part of why laughter can be the best medicine. This energy is healing in many ways. Bad relationships, grief and betrayal can imbalance this energy, allowing fear to move in where trust and love should be. An imbalanced heart chakra is hypercritical and cynical, sarcastic and judgmental against perfectionist standards. This imbalance will display mistrust and disdain towards others. The individual will be hardened and crave love while pushing it away simultaneously. The heart and sacral chakras are very important for the use of the third eye and interpretation of the wisdom it can impart. Understanding of that wisdom must be founded in love and a deep understanding of right/wrong and light/dark, as well as yourself to fully comprehend the messages you receive.
