On 1st August, 2021, I set out for a walk at around 10:30 am in the morning after having my breakfast, to cover all tourist points in and around Lansdowne. It was raining in the morning and that got me late on that day. If you are in Lansdowne you can visit all the tourist places around just by walking, would be a nice 5 to 6 km walk through the cool road.
The places of interests in Lansdowne are:
1. Darwan Sing Negi Museum maintained by Garhwal Rifles
This museum showcases 2 Victoria Crosses won by this regiment of British Indian Army during 1st World War apart from many other firearms and instruments used by Garhwal Rifles since it's establishment in 1887.
2. St. John's Church - established in 1937
3. St. Mary's Church - established in 1896
4. Tip N Top - View point, adventure park, zip line
GMVN's tourist lodge Tip N Top resort is situated here.
5. Sunset point
6. Ma Santoshi Temple maintained by Garhwal Rifles
7. Bhulla Taal maintained by Garhwal Rifles , Ticket 150 INR (including boat riding charges for 15-20 mins)
Apart from the above listed points tourists can visit Mahadeb temple "Tarakeswar Dham" at a distance of 35 km from Lansdowne by hiring a cab, which will take around INR 2000 for the trip.
Instead of walking if tourists want to hire a cab for sightseeing around Lansdowne it will cost 1200 to 1500 for the trip, if you want to include Tarakeswar dham, then the cost will be around INR 3000.00
