Anatomy and histology of cornea - In this video we discuss about the structure and the layers of the cornea.
cornea - It is transparent ,avascular,elliptical in front 12 mm horizontally and 11 mm vertically ,posteriorly it is circular with a diameter of 11.5
It covers both Iris and pupil.
It constitutes the anterior 1/6th of the eye.
Refractive index- 1.37
Dioptric power- +43D
Six layers of cornea-
1.Epithelium
2.Bowman's membrane
3.Corneal stroma
4.Duq's layer
5.Descemet's membrane
6. Endothelium
