The cornea is the transparent anterior part of the eye. it forms the outer 1/6 th of the eyeball and forms the major refracting surface of the eye . It provides a power of about 45 D to the eyeball. cornea has 6 layers: the epithelium, the Bowmans membrane, the stroma, the predescemets membrane , the descemets membrane and the endothelium.
