Stephen Craigan opened the scoring early on with Richie Foran Doubling the Steelmen's lead. A late rally from Hearts through Mark Burchill and Hjalmar Thorarinsson signalled another 30 minutes of Extra time where youngster Marc Fitzpatrick was able to send Terry Butcher's men into the 2005 League Cup final.
