2020 BMW S 1000 RR Dyno

We record the horsepower and torque measurements of the 2020 BMW S 1000 RR on the Cycle World dyno.

BMW Motorrad took the 2020 S 1000 RR seriously, redesigning it from the ground up with an all-new chassis, engine, and the latest electronics. The 999cc inline-four utilizes BMW ShiftCam technology that varies intake valve timing and lift, and is said to increase rideability through a more linear power delivery. The chassis is lighter and narrower, while the BMW Dynamic Damping Control semi-active suspension has also been updated. The M Package—an additional $3,700 on top of the $16,995 MSRP—adds HP4 Race-derived carbon-fiber wheels, fully adjustable Race Pro riding modes, and a lightweight battery, increasing sporting capability even further. On top of that, the M Package adds the iconic Motorsport livery.

We ran the all-new BMW S 1000 RR on our in-house motorcycle dyno, recording vital horsepower and torque measurements ahead of the 2019 Cycle World Superbike Shootout. The 2020 model year double-R produced 182.65 hp at 13,580 rpm and 77.06 pound-feet of torque at 11,040 rpm.
