Why You Don't Understand Wing Chun

Wing Chun Kung Fu is probably one of the most misunderstood martial arts around today. From the outside looking in it can be difficult to understand what the main goal of the system really is. Wing Chun is a pure self defense martial art. It's techniques and tactics were devised for street self defense and many of them (probably most) won't work well and are even illegal inside of a ring or cage. In a world where mma and other sport martial arts are so popular it's no wonder that our perspective has shifted away from real world self defense and into the realm of prize fighting.
