How to make fun and
How to make fun and delicious candy sushi. Look around you and see what kind of candies you have available in your area. Softer candies work best because you need cut them.
Found ideas for these by conducting a Google image search for "candy sushi".
Rice Krispies Treats
3 tbsp butter
4 cups marshmallows (about 40 large)
6 cups crispy rice cereal (rice bubbles)
Melt the butter and marshmallows over low heat on the stove or in the microwave. Stir together until smooth. Add the cereal and blend until coated.
Working with half the mixture at a time, spread the warm rice krispies treats in a shallow pan or cookie sheet covered with a silicone mat (or parchment paper, waxed paper or plastic wrap). Spread the mixture into a rectangle shape approximately 1/4 inch thick.
To make maki sushi:
Place candies along the long edge of the rectangle, roll up sushi style using the silicone mat to help. Place roll in the refrigerator until it firms up.
Cover the roll with pieces of fruit roll ups or fruit leather and slice into pieces.
To make California rolls:
Spread treats out into a rectangle shape and cover with pieces of fruit roll up. Align the candy pieces like for the maki sushi and roll up using the mat. Chill and cut into slices with a sharp knife. Roll edges in pieces of candy or sprinkles (or sesame seeds) if desired.
To make nigiri/ ebi/ shake
Form the rice krispies treats into small rectangles and cover with Swedish fish pieces (attached with a piece of fruit roll up) or use starburst candies softened in the microwave for a few seconds.
