Bake time: 21 minutes
Total time: ~4 hours
You will need
Stand mixer with dough hook and flat mixer (optional)
Mixing bowl
Baking tray
o Ingredients
¼ oz active dry yeast
¼ cup warm water (105-110F)
1 cup warm milk (105-110 F)
½ cup sugar
4 cups flour
2 oz melted butter at room temperature
2 eggs
1 ½ tsp salt
Tips
Avoid exposing yeast to very hot temperatures greater than 110F
Knead dough with stand mix with dough hook application or on a lightly floured dry surface by hand for approximately 10-15 minutes.
Consider windowpane test in order to assess your kneading. If the dough rips, continue kneading until smooth and elastic.
Choose a draft free, warm areas to rise your dough
• Options include places like a preheated warm oven or warm closet/drawer
• Optimal temperature for rising is around 80F
• Rise for 2 hours before rolling into small balls
• You may place a small tray of water to maintain moisture as the dough rises
Do not immediately take the bread out of the oven when it is finished baking. Allow the bread to come to room temperature very slowly by leaving it in the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes.
