Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader is
Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader is the ringleader of the Black Knives Plot, imprisoned within Ringleader's Evergaol. Like her fellow Black Knife Assassins, she is swift and aggressive, closing distance with ease. Her weapon is imbued with Death, allowing it to drain and reduce her targets’ maximum HP for a short while.
Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader can be found at Ringleader's Evergaol in Liurnia of the Lakes. You cannot access this area until you've progressed Ranni's quest significantly (after defeating Astel, step 16/20).
Alecto was a Numen woman and a close associate of the goddess Queen Marika the Eternal. Alecto was the ringleader of the Black Knife Assassins, who stole a fragment of the Rune of Death from Marika's shadow, Maliketh. Alecto and the other Black Knives acted on the orders of Lunar Princess Ranni, and on a night that would come to be known as the Night of Black Knives, they fell upon the Royal Capital, killing several demigds, first among them Marika's firstborn; Godwyn the Golden.It seems like the plan did not go as she instructed. If you confront Ranni about this night when you first meet her, you can hear a sense of guilt in her voice, and she refuses your services from that point on. Its likely that she did not want Godwyn dead, and the Black Knife Assassins did this against her will.Its very likely Ranni was betrayed by Alecto, the Black Knife Ringleader, literally stabbed in the back, and its likely that in her final moments, she imprisoned Alecto for his betrayal.
While Alecto survived the attack, her daughter Tiche died defending her mother during their escape from the capital. Alecto would eventually find herself imprisoned within an evergaol within Ranni's Royal Moongazing Grounds.
Alecto's attacks are no joke and most players choose to leave this fight for another time. Our strategy is to initiate the fight and then run straight to a rock behind Alecto. From the top of the rock we are somewhat safe from her ranged attack (you will still die a lot as we see in this video).
Our goal is to keep the rock between us and Alecto and try to make her glitch in the rock (same method we used for Crucible Knight in this video Elden Ring: Crucible Knight (Stormhil...).
Wait for the animation showing that she is stuck and while you hear the sound of her feet against the rock, we are safe.
In this video the weapon of choice is Night Maiden's Mist spell. The key element in the fight is not to stagger her,
because then she will reset and bypass the rock, meaning insta death. Night Maiden's Mist will damage her slowly but surely.
At any point she breaks free from the rock, repeat the same process and make her glitch again.
She drops Black Knife Tiche (her daughter) Legendary Ashes, one of the best summons in the game.
