Ingredients for Jeera Rice:

(Tsp-Teaspoon; Tbsp-Tablespoon)

Basmati Rice- 2 cups (around 350 gms)

Whole Spices:
Cumin seeds-2 tsp
Green Cardamom- 4
Cloves- 4
Cinnamon- 4 pcs
Black Peppercorns- 12-15

Other Ingredients:
Onion, thick chopped - 1 medium (70 gms)
Green Chillies, cut- 4
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Ghee -3 tbsp
Salt for seasoning- 2 tsp or to taste
Coriander leaves, fine chopped - 4 tbsp  

Preparation:

Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 mins.
Cut the green Chillies and chop the coriander leaves.

Process:

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add the whole garam masala. Give a mix & then add the cumin(jeera) seeds.
Give a mix again and once it splutters, add the chopped onions. Fry on medium heat for 2 mins till translucent .
Add the turmeric powder and the cut green & fry on low heat for 1 min.
Add the drained rice and give a mix & then add the chopped coriander leaves.
Mix well and stir & fry on low heat for 1 min
Now add 3 cups water and add salt. Give a mix and increase heat to medium high/high. Close the lid and pressure cook on high heat till one whistle. (Should take around 6-7 mins)
Allow it to rest for 15 mins and then open the lid.
Gently fluff up the rice with a fork/spoon and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
