Marathon #08 Cool Fusion [testing custom music], 2023-02-04

This probably isn’t a particularly great vid film, but it was also a first attempt at vidding the level, which I doubt I’d played in close to five years (and which I’m sure I’d never played on TC). As a result, it’s probably still interesting viewing, since it may give some insight into my thought process when playing a level that I’m only slightly familiar with. I played this level purely on the grounds that I needed to test whether my mix of “Flowers in Heaven” (see below for the link) was looping correctly in-game (it was), and on a whim, I decided to keep playing. I had a couple of close calls, but I was able to escape them. Abusing my knowledge of how enemies build paths helped a lot.

I may do a few more M1 levels at some point. This one was fun.

Note: Since the player is not given a weapon that can toggle the switches at the start of the level, all Vidmaster films of “Cool Fusion” (and “Ingue Ferroque”) use a custom physics model that enables the pistol to toggle switches.
