Throughout the Second World War,
Throughout the Second World War, the Japanese Army were known for being brutal war criminals and inside of Singapore they used a prison to hold many Allied Prisoners of War. Changi Prison was horrifically overcrowded, and it held 5 times more prisoners than it should have and the Japanese guards were known for their evil and brutality. But it was also a place where there would be a lot of torture administered by the guards.
But when the Second World War was coming to an end, and the Japanese forces were defeated, Changi Prison became a British prison again and many Allied guards sentenced Japanese war criminals to death. They would be executed inside of an execution structure where there were three gallows and inside of here the hooded condemned men went to their deaths.
