In 1940, four Catholic nuns from Orange California were assigned to mission work on a small island in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. Little did they know, a year and a day later, World War II would have a significant impact on their lives and the lives of the people of Buka.

Trapped in Paradise is more than a story of war, crisis and rescue. It is the story of stalwart women and men, who kept their faith in God and people whatever the circumstances.

Trapped in Paradise tells the story of the wondrous and exciting journey that four nuns with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange took through the South Pacific and their exploration of Australia while impatiently waiting for a ship to take them northward.

It is a first person account, of their sometimes uncomfortable efforts to embrace a culture not their own, and the perils of hiding and surviving from a vicious war.
