Ingredients:

1 kg chicken (cut into pieces)

1 green bell pepper (cut into chunks)

1 red bell pepper (cut into chunks)

2 tomatoes (chopped)

1 onion (sliced)

3 tbsp yogurt

2-3 cloves garlic (minced)

1-inch piece of ginger (minced)

2-3 green chilies (sliced, optional)

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chili powder

1 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp garam masala

Salt to taste

3 tbsp oil


Instructions:

Marinate the Chicken:

In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with the yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Vegetables:

Cut the green and red bell peppers into chunks.

Slice the onion.

Chop the tomatoes.

Mince the garlic and ginger.

Cook the Chicken:

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the marinated chicken and cook until it's no longer pink and starts to brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

Prepare the Jalfrezi:

In the same pan, add 1 tbsp of oil.

Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

Add the sliced onion and cook until it becomes translucent.

Add the minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies (if using). Cook for another minute.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and the oil starts to separate from the mixture.

Combine Everything:

Add the cooked chicken back to the pan.

Add coriander powder and garam masala. Mix well.

Add the bell peppers and stir-fry for a few minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.

Adjust salt to taste and mix well.

Final Touch:

Garnish with fresh coriander and green chilli

Serve:

Serve hot with rice, naan, or roti.
