Easy Microwaved Flan Recipe
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp water
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
PREPARATION
1. Mix 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp water. Microwave for a minute. If it hasn't caramelised, microwave until sugar is light brown in colour (10 seconds interval) and maximum 1 minute and 20 seconds.
2. In a mixing bowl, add 1 egg, 3/4 cup milk, 1 tbsp sugar and vanilla extract. Gently whisk until well combined. Don't mix vigorously to prevent bubbles from forming. Sift the mixture to get rid of any bubbles.
3. Microwave for a minute. It is ready when the outside has set but the inside is still jiggly. If it is still runny, then microwave more at 10-second interval, maximum 1 minute and 20 seconds.
4. Leave to cool down in room temperature. Cover with foil and chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
