The Sangean ATS-909X portable shortwave
The Sangean ATS-909X portable shortwave radio has to be one of my finest single side band receivers in the house. It is a breeze to tune in HAM radio operators. The AM band is strong also, bringing in daytime distant stations in with ease.

Features I like about this radio:
Shortwave reception is amazing with attached external antenna.
SSB operation is smooth and effortless.
AM FM LW Station naming.
SW Page naming.
Speaker audio is decent.
Home/World clock.
Three Alarms.
Nice buttons.
Good build quality.
Bright white side lit LCD display.
Signal strength indicator is pretty accurate.
Squelch function.
Tone control.
Features that could be added or improved on:
More FM and AM presets.
Better SW reception with 47" whip antenna.
Improve or remove the indenting on the jog wheel to make it easier to turn.
Overall, with the premium price tag attached, you are getting one awesome portable shortwave masterpiece. I recommend this radio to those who want to dial in HAMs on a daily basis, or on a moments notice. It works so well for that purpose.
