Shortly after Artyom’s father is conscripted into the army, Artyom decides to follow in his footsteps and join the war effort. He lies about his age and is accepted by the military, much to his mother’s distress.
The film follows Artyom as he undergoes training and embarks on his first mission to the front lines. During the mission, he takes part in his first battle and experiences the horror of war first hand. Despite his initial fear, he steps up and leads his fellow soldiers in battle, proving himself to be a capable and brave soldier.
