The Edelrid (formerly Salewa) via
The Edelrid (formerly Salewa) via ferrata in Oberjoch, Bad Hindelang is a beautiful, moderately difficult via ferrata in the Allgaeu, which is also suitable as a practice via ferrata until autumn.
It is divided into 3 sections, all of which can be done independently of each other, as a hiking trail runs parallel to them, which can be used to bypass the sections.
You can start from the valley or take the Iselerbahn to overcome the first meters of altitude, then the approach to the first section of the via ferrata is only 20 minutes long.
Section 1: Level B/C - 1.5 to 2 hours - ends directly at the Iseler summit
Section 2: Level B/C - 0.5 - 1 hr. - from the Iseler summit down to the Iseler ridge
Section 3: Level B - 1.5 - 2 hrs - from the Iseler ridge to the Kuehgundkopf summit

Access: From the mountain station 20 minutes

Altitude difference: 380m uphill, 790m downhill
Refreshment stop: Vordere Wiedhag-Alpe
We completed the first two sections here, then descended via the Iseler summit back to the top station of the lift and from there on to Schmugglersee. Here, the Vordere Wiedhag-Alpe offers a very nice place to stop for refreshments. The Schmugglersee (reservoir) may be used for swimming, but only during the opening hours of the alp. A jump into the water is worth it, the water is crystal clear!
Hints:
- Access only from June 1 to November 10, no access possible in winter.
- Do not walk before sunrise / after sunset.
- The path must be left no later than 1 hour after the end of the lift operation.
- always stay on the marked path and use the official access and descent routes, outside of which are nature reserves
- use complete via ferrata equipment
