This is how to play the G major scale on the bass guitar. G, our lowest note, is gonna be on the E string, 3rd fret on the E string. And immediately, we skip up to the open A. B is 2nd fret on the A string, and C is 3rd fret, right next to it. Now, we have the open D, 2nd fret on the D string is E, 4th fret on the D string is F sharp, and we can play our open G down the scale. Here's what the scale sounds like.
