In 1998, the beating and murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard became a rallying point in the generations-long attempt to get Americans to take queerbashing seriously as a social problem.
This report aired one week to the day after Shepard was beaten and was left for dead on a fence in Wyoming. Here is the teaser and the beginning of the report itself.
The report is very good, but notice how much the teaser seems like a movie trailer, complete with melodramatic "suspense music."
