Ach bleib bei uns, Herr
Ach bleib bei uns, Herr Jesu Christ, BWV 649, is a transcription by J.S. Bach (1685-1750) himself, of the third movement of his cantata BWV 6. This movement was originally written for soprano, piccolo cello and continuo.
J.S. Bach gathered six transcriptions for organ of extracts of his cantatas at the end of his life. They were published in 1748 and they are known till this day under the name of "Schübler Chorales" (Schübler was the name of the editor).
