RE-POINTING - Notice how the trowel concentrates the pressure at the top of the joint, pushing it back to about 1mm so as to highlight the edge on the brick, the bottom of the joint slightly overhangs the brick work below. This is struck off using the board & french-man.
Then, remove surplus mortar and brush lightly. It is sometimes a good idea to leave the brushing for a few minutes to avoid brush marks.
