Today I am sharing how I make the most perfect layered instant pot chicken keema biryani or mince meat biryani. You won't need any other pot for this method of making this layered Biryani as everything from boiling rice to cooking biryani masala to layering is done in the instant pot. Not only that but you can also use this method to make perfect steamed rice in instant pot.

Ingredients:

3-4 tbsp Oil
3-4 medium-sized onions(fried)* OR 1/2 cup fried onions
2-3 tbsp Tomato Paste OR 1/2 cup tomato Puree

Marination:
500gm Chicken Mince
2-3 tbsp Yogurt - heaped
1 tbsp Ginger Paste
1 tbsp Garlic Paste
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tbsp Biryani or Korma Masala
2 tsp or to taste salt


Rice - Pressure at Low for 3minutes
2 cup Long Grain Basmati Rice - Soaked for an hour
2-3 Green Chillies
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 Black Cardamom
2-3 Green Cardamoms
2 cups of water to cook the rice in
1tsp Salt

Layering:
1/4 cup Milk + 1/2 tsp Zarda Color/Yellow food Color + 1/2 tsp Essence of Choice**
Green Chillies - As required
Fresh Mint - As required
Fresh Coriander - As required
Fried Onions - As required
Pinch of Dried Fenugreek leaves / Kasoori Methi - Optional
1/2 to 1 tsp Garam Masala - Optional
1-2 tsp Ghee - Optional

*Use half to make the masala and save the other half for layering
**You can use Kehwra Essence, Rose Essence or Saffron Essence. I personally like to add rose or saffron essence
