State Funeral Honors for Cardinal Sin

Jaime Cardinal Sin was the first Filipino Churchman to be accorded full military and state honors during his funeral on June 28, 2005. He was a recipient of the Legion of Honor (Chief Commander), Order of Sikatuna (Grand Collar), Order of Lakandula (Grand Cross). He is acknowledged for his role in fighting for freedom and justice which resulted in 2 bloodless People Power revolutions. The government declared a period of national mourning upon his death.
