This is the preview of one of our paid tutorials named: “Use of cohesive zone method and XFEM together for delamination and damage analysis in Abaqus”.
In this tutorial the micro mechanical models of fiber/matrix debonding and damage is created and analyzed. cohesive interaction is defined between fiber and matrix. the matrix is defined as an enrichment zone for XFEM analysis. The models are created in 2D space. There are two models:
1) Single fiber model
2) Multiple fiber model
In the first model, there is only one fiber and there is matrix around it. In the second model, there are 4 fibers and matrix around them. models are created step by step with detailed explanations. after the completion of the simulations, results are discussed. finally the equivalent stress-strain curve in x direction is plotted for each of the models and compared.
