Why Is Manipur Burning

On 5th May, a CoBRA commando of CRPF was shot dead in Manipur. On the same day, an on-duty tax assistant was killed in Imphal. So far 60 people have been killed, 231 injured and 1,700 houses burnt in this ethnic violence. Why is this violence happening? Why have people written their caste outside their homes?
