Chinese Rice Flour Red Bean
Chinese Rice Flour Red Bean Cake (Chinese Style Cooking Recipe)
Welcome to Xiao's Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei, ever since my Mother taught me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for Cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and pick-up new Asian/Chinese recipes.
Ingredients:
350g Glutinous Rice Flour
350g Sweet Red Bean Paste
30g Caster Sugar
250ml Warm Water
Method:
1. Place the rice flour in a mixing bowl
2. Gradually pour the water onto flour and stir at the same time
3. Knead into a smooth dough, cover and leave in a warm place to rest for 2 hours
4. Heat 1 litre of oil in the wok
5. Meanwhile, take half of the dough and place on dusted surface, roll into a sausage shape
6. Divide into small doughs at the size of a golf ball
7. Take one of the small balls into your hand, apply gentle pressure with your thumbs to form a cup shape
8. Take 1 Tsp of the red bean paste, place into the cup, folds and seal
9. Apply gentle pressure to flatten it, and then into the hot oil
10. Repeat this with the rest
11. Deep fry for about 5 minutes till they are floating and cooked through – Do this in batches
12. Remove from oil and drain off excess oil
13. Place onto a dish, sprinkle with caster sugar
14. Repeat with the other half of the dough
15. Serve while hot
