Director Søren Bak-Jensen presents the Workers Museum in a talk with TBIH's Sandro Debono. Workers Museums won The Council of Europe Museum Prize in 2023.
Through a major renovation and extension of the space for visitor experience, The Workers Museum develops new ways of engaging with the past, present, and future of democratic participation in the framework of the history of mass organization and cultural engagement of workers. In combination with a new strategy and re-organization of the institution, the renovation the museums’ building, the Workers’ Assembly Hall in Copenhagen dating from 1879, consolidates and re-positions The Workers Museum as an inclusive and multi-faceted heritage institution centered on social justice and cultural equality.
