To shorten the time required for SIP, DNP developed the world’s first F-Zero method. The F-Zero method is a new method for SIP. Calculation of the F0 value starts when the minimum temperature of the area being sterilized exceeds 121.1 degrees Celsius. F0 values are calculated every second and added until the target value is reached – for example an F0 value of 233 for about 30 minutes at 130 degrees Celsius. Sterilization is now complete, and the sterilized area is cooled. In conventional equipment sterilization, about 30 minutes of heating is required after 130 degrees is reached, and total SIP time is about 60 minutes. Using the F-Zero method, for low-acid pH mode, only about ten minutes heat sterilization is required, and total SIP time is reduced to about 35 minutes. And for high-acid mode, heating time is further reduced to about five minutes. Total SIP time becomes approximately 25 minutes, significantly saving time and energy. Compared to the conventional timer method, the F-Zero method can produce time savings of between 20 and 30 minutes for all areas.
