Our wounds do not happen in a vacuum, trauma needs repaired interpersonally
This is an invitation to repair wounds of “not belonging,” feeling “exiled,” or excluded
Opening to love is an invitation to move beyond the reactivity of defensive states of fight or flight. You discover that you are here, not simply to survive but to become the creator of your life. It takes courage to lay down your armor

“We are all interconnected. The heart of compassion relies upon knowing that our roots intertwine—that we are interconnected with each other. When I can lovingly turn toward my own suffering, when I know myself—then I am able to see you, both your pain and your phenomenal strength and courage.”

Quotes and Poems for today:

“Each one of us has lived through some devastation, some loneliness, some weather superstorm or spiritual superstorm, when we look at each other we must say, I understand. I understand how you feel because I have been there myself. We must support each other and empathize with each other because each of us is more alike than we are unalike.”
~ Maya Angelou

"I am often struck by the dangerous narcissism fostered by spiritual rhetoric that pays so much attention to individual self-improvement and so little to the practice of love within the context of community.”

Belonging
by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer

And if it’s true we are alone,
we are alone together,
the way blades of grass
are alone, but exist as a field.
Sometimes I feel it,
the green fuse that ignites us,
the wild thrum that unites us,
an inner hum that reminds us
of our shared humanity.
Just as thirty-five trillion
red blood cells join in one body
to become one blood.
Just as one hundred thirty-six thousand
notes make up one symphony.
Alone as we are, our small voices
weave into the one big conversation.
Our actions are essential
to the one infinite story of what it is
to be alive. When we feel alone,
we belong to the grand communion
of those who sometimes feel alone—
we are the dust, the dust that hopes,
a rising of dust, a thrill of dust,
the dust that dances in the light
with all other dust, the dust
that makes the world.
