Shaykh-ul-Islam takes oath from the faithful not to disobey their parents
No worship is accepted if the parents are annoyed: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri took an oath from the thousands of the faithful attending Itikaf under the banner of MQI that they would never cause any hurt to and disobey their parents till the last breath of their life nor would they injure their feelings through their actions, words or body language and that they would take care of their aging parents in same manner as their parents took care of them during their childhood.
The eyes of the thousands of the residents of Itikaf City welled up with tears when they listened to the commandments of Allah Almighty and the sayings of the Holy Prophet (SAW) about the respect, status and the rights of parents in Islam and vowed not to commit any disobedience of their parents.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Allah Almighty created parents in order to express His attribute of creation and linked His right to be obeyed and worshiped with the rights of the parents. Like no one can be equal to Allah Almighty in His attribute of being true God, likewise the parents’ right to be respected, and obeyed is absolute.
Shaykh-ul-Islam said that every kind of respect and reverence (Adab) starts with the respect of the parents, adding he who is not respectful towards his/her parents cannot respect anyone. He said that a society that is deprived of the respect of parents becomes morally barren. He said there is Allah’s commandment that says that He would not accept the worship of the people who disobey their parents, whether they fast, perform Hajj and make donations. He said that Allah would reject the good deeds of those who are not good with their parents even if their deeds are as many as water in the ocean. He said that no Dua is rejected during Shab-e-Qadr except those who violate the rights of their parents.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the parents are the source of piety, goodness and benevolence. He said that Allah has enjoined His subject not to express even a minor indignation about committing disobedience of the parents.
Shaykh-ul-Islam dedicated his two-day speech on the respect of the parents to his parents, Farid e Millat Dr Farid-ud-Din Qadri (R.A) and Hazrat Khursheed Begum (R.A).
