I hope these tips encourage you to plant your own container of raspberries for your family. They are really not complicated or hard to grow and are an absolute summer treat. We grow two varieties (Heritage and Fall Gold) that are ever-bearing because my goal is to have snacks throughout multiple seasons instead of one huge bumper crop in the summer — but you have to pick the variety based on your family’s goals.

If I could only chose one variety to grow, it would be fall gold — they are incredibly sweet… it’s insane how delicious they are.

If you have a toddler that eats berries non stop— you’ll probably even save money in the summer months by planting a few containers of raspberries — they spread quickly and are vigorous growers; so you only likely need one plant per container.
