“PARVATI NINNU NE”- Kalgada-Adi/Tisra Gati- Syama Sastri
As I wrap up the 2020 Navaratri series, my heart is brimming with joy, gratitude and so many positive emotions that I truly cannot put in verbal expression. To add euphoria to joy we are joined in this Navaratri’s  finale by the one and only- Sangeetha Kalanidhi , Dr Sowmya Akka. It was when I was 13, at a Pacharatnam, that I met Sowmya akka and I still distinctly remember what my revered Guru told me “ This is the kind of Paripoorana Vidwat that you should strive to imbibe ”. Ever since, I have been in complete awe of her music and its an absolute honour that I got to sing with her, albeit remotely. But wait, it doesn’t end here! How could one collaborate with Sowmya Akka and not pick her incredible brain on topics that they have been wanting answers for so long? Therefore, we have included glimpse of a riveting, insightful interview that we had with her touching upon subjects like how to chose the right Guru, How to excel in Manodharmam, gender bias in Carnatic music, what it takes to be a performer, a quick glimpse into Padams and Javalis etc and a few lighter topics related to Navaratri too. We sincerely feel that this would be a useful conversation for students, aspiring performers, musicians and Rasikas alike.

There are so many Gods and people to thank for the past 9 days that I think it deserves a separate post but for now, from the bottom of my heart, I have two words to say to you all -  THANK YOU!

There are so many more such projects on the way and I hope for your perennial  support and love, as always. Namaskaram!
