Canon EOS t4i (650D) - how to live stream old DSLR Canon cameras

Do you want to live stream but don't want to spend a fortune on start up gear? Do you have an old Canon DLSR camera? If so, you may be in luck.
If you've been thinking about streaming using an old Canon Camera but have heard it doesn't work, there's no clean HDMI, and there are unsolvable issues; I'm here to tell you you can use your camera, the HDMI output can look great and the issues are solvable.
I'm currently using an older Canon t4i (650D) camera with an old 40mm f/2.8 lens. While the setup wont win any awards, it looks great and serves it's immediate purpose. If this channel grows, I may upgrade the setup one day; however, I have no need to upgrade because the setup works perfectly.

For a complete set of files that I use for streaming checkout the following repository: https://github.com/peznauts/camera-t4... -- this repo contains both version 1.0.4 of the Canon official firmware and the version of Magic Lantern I'm currently running as well as my camera configuration which provides great quality live view settings, and ensures that the camera won't automatically go to sleep.
To cleanup the live view and ensure you have a clean HDMI signal install the magic lantern firmware for your camera.

These web drivers are still in beta but work great on Windows PCs. Even if the driver doesn't "officially" support your camera try to use them. They work wonderfully with the Canon t4i (650D).

This cheap capture card is great. While the general rule is you should always spend more on video equipment, this little device is an exception.
