Mobile phone footage taken by a 17-year-old boy who died in the South Korea ferry sinking and released by his father, reveals a heartbreaking look at the final moments of some of the 325 high school students aboard the vessel that sank on 16 April, leaving more than 300 people dead or missing.

In the video, the students are seen huddled below deck, wondering if they'll make the news and discussing what they should do as the South Korea ferry sinks.

The fear in the cabin quickly builds as the listing becomes worse.
Some say they feel dizzy and sick.

"Am I really going to die?" a student says at 0855 local time - the same time a crew member on the bridge made the first distress call.

Students ask whether the ship will sink. Where their teachers are. "What's the captain doing?"

Three times they are warned over the loudspeaker to stay where they are, even as the tilting increases and it becomes less possible for them to go anywhere else.

The video was on the mobile phone of 17-year-old student Park Su-hyeon, when rescuers recovered his body.

The boy's father, Park Jong-dae, provided it to the media, saying he wanted to show the world the ship's condition as it sank.
