The Dead Sea Scrolls' most intriguing composition is a document known briefly as the "War Scroll."
We look closely at this sectarian document "The War of the Sons of Light against the Sons of Darkness," describing their expected involvement in a coming apocalyptic war: which perhaps took place during the Jewish War in their skirmish with the Romans or at the final Battle of Masada, bringing their way of life to a bitter end.
Exploring the archaeology, historical accounts, and sectarian scrolls, we uncover details about this ancient community of Qumran. From how they ordered their life to the purpose of their rule, from the values they cultivated to the manuscripts they composed, we explore the available material detailing the life of these people 2,000 years ago.
