If you are undertaking site works in Civil 3D and you are new to the feature line and grading tools in Civil 3D, join us in this session to look at how to design building pads, detention basins and other site designs using feature lines and grading.
The feature line is a very powerful 3D design object, able to be used as a breakline for surface creation, and as a baseline for gradings and corridors.
Gradings are perpendicular projections from your feature line geometry, applying various grading controls: offset at grade, height difference by slope, slope to surface and more. Where gradings intersect each other, they automatically form a common intercept line to merge without overlapping.
This will be an introductory session exploring the following:
• Understanding the importance of Sites in managing the interactions between feature lines and gradings
• Creating feature lines and gradings
• Editing feature lines horizontally and vertically
• Managing elevations for crossing feature lines
