Make sure to prep the
Make sure to prep the kayak before applying the molding:
Clean area with Dawn dish soap and then make sure area is completely dry.
Wipe area with a small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol - just enough on a rag to further clean the area (dries almost immediately)
Using a different rag, apply some adhesive promoter to the kayak where the trim molding will be applied.
Adhesive promoter that I used:

Keel Guard DIY
There are several videos on YouTube of how to make a keel guard out of Kydex and PVC such as this one: PVC keel guard for kayak under $20!!
PVC 1.25" in 2 ft length (can use 1.5" or 2" if wider coverage is desired)

Spray Paint (helps to lightly sand the PVC before spray painting)

Scotch 3M 15lb. Outdoor Double Sided Mounting Tape (do not use adhesive promoter for the PVC keel guard)
