Thank you all for making me reach 1,000 subscribers on this channel! Much appreciated as a special treat may come later but for now, it's time to impress the British here by doing an overseas two-part episode based in their homeland.

Rail Disasters is a Train Simulator series simulating and recreating the events of real world train accidents

Episode 12: Great Western Wrecks
Another two-part episode covering two major wrecks that have occurred in the UK on the same line, a few miles apart and just two years apart is why a two-part was made.

Part 1: Southall, 1997
On September 19, 1997, an InterCity 125 passenger train failed to slow down in response to warning signals and collided with a freight train crossing its path on the Great Western Main Line at Southall, west London. The accident caused seven deaths and 139 injuries as a result.

Part 2: Ladbrok Grove, 1999
On October 5, 1999, two trains, a Thames Turbo and a Great Western HST collide at Ladbroke Grove outside Paddington station killing 31 and injuring over 500. Occurring just two years after and a few miles east on the same line of the 1997 Southall wreck. The investigation was looked into the operation of Turbo caused it failed to stop and answers were needed why. This crash also raised the deabte on the use of ATP which could of prevented the crash as well as the other before.
