Kapotasana is a difficult backbend. But, the level of difficulty depends on body type also. A few people have more flexible spine, they just need to build some strength through basic backbend asanas, shown here. Then its becomes easy. Few tries it will be yours! But, for many people like me, its most difficult. We must take time to build the flexibility and special strength needed for these back bends. Understand your body. Rotation in shoulders, widened chest, strength in upper back and lower back, stretch in thighs, arm strength to withhold pose should be practiced in comfortable pace and manner. Otherwise, you will hurt yourself. Have safe practice. Yoga meant to cure you, not to injure you in any aspect. Don't just exercise asanas. Practice awareness to grow in the path of yoga.
