This physics video tutorial explains how to calculate the tension force in a rope in a horizontal circle and in a vertical circle using the weight and centripetal force.  The tension force at the top of a vertical circle is the difference between the centripetal force and the weight of the object.  The tension force at the bottom of the vertical circle is the sum of the weight force and centripetal force.  This video contains plenty of examples and uniform circular motion practice problems.
